Joe Biden has resumed his duties on the Foreign Relations Committee in the Senate to the relief of many. Following his return, there has been sparked interest in his position as a favorable candidate for Secretary of State, if a democrat were to win the nomination. His experience with foreign relations(they were a major point of emphasis in his campaign), aid significantly towards a presidential office that has serious foreign issues to deal with, such as the current war in Iraq, nukes in Iran, instability in South Korea, Russians, etc...
So will Joe be back next time? Possibly not, depending on the sucess, or failure, of the next president. If the opportunity arose where his message would draw a significant amount of attention and media focus, then he might run. But he is gettin old, and has already run for democratic candidacy twice. Only time will tell...
